Ahead of the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, the Godwin Maduka Destination Train has inaugurated a 21-member local government coordinators to spread Maduka's gospel across the entire local government areas in Anambra State.

Speaking at the meeting held at Indigo Hotel, Awka, last Sunday, the coordinator general of Dr Godwin Maduka Destination Train, Hon MacJoe Onwudinjo, said the essence of the meeting was to get serious minded people who would work in the grassroots to ensure victory for Maduka.

Onwudinjo described Maduka as a change agent who used his wealth to transform, not just his town, but neighbouring communities, and was ready to replicate same in the state if given the opportunity.

Describing Dr Maduka as a top ranking People's Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial aspirant in Anambra State, Onwudinjo said the coordinators were going to be Maduka's representatives in their various council areas.

In his words, 'A man who is able to personally finance and transform a rural Community like Umuchukwu to a semi urban town with the establishment of state-of-the art infrastructure in the town, as well as the establishment of six private hospitals in Las Vegas, United States of America, is capable of transforming the state into a model state that every Anambra person will be proud of.'

Onwudinjo remarked that when Dr Maduka embarked on his philanthropic activities many years back, he did not harbour any political ambition but did what he did because of his love for his people and humanity.

He described the Godwin Maduka Destination Train as a vehicle that would usher in unprecedented development in the quality of infrastructure and service delivery such as his proposed international hospital and the establishment of pharmaceutical industry in the state to curtail the spate of overseas medical trips.

He said the proposed pharmaceutical industry would equally generate jobs to the youths, improve the state's internally generated revenue, as well as help in reducing crime. This was even as they warned against betrayal and double dealing.

Speaking to the coordinators after their inauguration, Onwudinjo charged them to justify the trust reposed in them, having been recommended by stakeholders in their domains.

He also charged them to work closely with local government chairmen of the party, as well as other party officials, to achieve the purpose for which they were chosen and inaugurated.

Some of those inaugurated expressed happiness to work for Maduka whom they described as the man needed by the state at the moment.
