Worthy AIFL Champions Nwaudo FC
Nwaudo Football Club of Okija has won the inaugural edition of AIFL despite playing a goaless draw with Golden Child Football Academy of Eziowelle Thursday August 10, 2017 at FC Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium Nnewi.
Nwaudo FC polled a tota of 41 points from 16 matches to notch the trophy. They lost only one match at home to Graceland FC of Awgbu and won 13 matches, drawing only 2. Morning Star FC of Onitsha won 10, drew 4 and lost 2 to come second on 34 points. DOSAD Football Academy came third with 8 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses.

Six other teams will join the current nine in the second season starting October 2017. All the teams that have registered across the deadline date will engage in a playoff in September. Top six teams will join the in the second season.
