The Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, His Lordship Most Rev Jonas Benson Okoye, on August 24th, 2017, blessed the new Chapel of Adoration donated to St Maria Goretti's Catholic Church, Umuona in Aguata L.G.A of Anambra State.
Receiving the keys of the new chapel from Mr Ifeanyi Okoye, the donor, Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye commended him for the gift to the church, saying that the Chapel was very vital to the spiritual growth of the parishioners. He urged them to make effective use of the chapel and to always present their problems to God in the Blessed Sacrament as he has answers to all life's problems.

In his homily when he led in the Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Okoye called on Christians to discover who a Christian is and what it takes to become a good Christian, as such knowledge would aid their inter-personal relationship within the community. He noted that most people no longer heed to God's plan in their lives. He identified following God's divine plan as the fastest way of achieving one's dream in life. He advised Christians to imbibe the virtues of patience, charity and understanding of others view and to desist from passing quick judgement on others.
He commended the conducive environment and oneness existing between the parishioners and the priest in the parish. In his remarks, the parish priest, Rev Fr Charles Ezeoke, thanked the Bishop for his commitment towards the growth of Awka Diocese and his zeal in shepherding the flock. He thanked the donor, Mr Ifeanyi Okoye for his gift to the church and asked God for his blessing upon his entire family.

Speaking to Fides, the donor, Mr Ifeanyi Okoye thanked God for his blessing and care upon his life and for using him as an instrument to build the Adoration Chapel. He noted that he asked God for a favour and vowed that if granted he would build a Chapel for the Church. God answered his prayers and in return, he appreciated God by building the Adoration Chapel. He advised all to always support the work of God in the Church, saying that God never ceased to bless those who contributed to the Church.
