Music they say is the food for the soul. In credence to this, many lovers and masters of music on Saturday, July 8, 2017, celebrated the students' choir of the Catholic Diocese of Awka-owned Tansi International College, Awka (TICA), Anambra State with encomiums.
Tansi International College, Awka, the defending champion and overall best in the 2016 Awka Diocesan Catholic Secondary Schools choir competition, performed at the grand finale of the 2016/2017 Music Fiesta of St Dominic Savio Seminary, Akpu, Orumba South L.G.A, Anambra State as an invited guest choir.
The students' choir that had Henry Madubugwu of SS2 as the conductor and Kelvin Udolisa Odike of JS 2 as the organist, thrilled the management, staff and students of the host seminary as well as the entire guests that filled the seminary hall with their wonderful music renditions. Such renditions included classical hymns as well as choreography.
Speaking to Fides, the principal of Tansi International College, Awka, Rev Fr Paul Onyebuchi II, who led his students to Akpu for the event, said the college managements' commitment in encouraging students' participation in such music fiesta, national and international excursions, academic competitions, sports, exhibitions and other extracurricular activities were in line with TICA's vision and mission.
He noted that the management is committed to building a noble institution for all round formation and development of the young ones to be responsible individuals to themselves, their families and the society.
Tansi International College, Awka performed alongside Catholic Diocese of Awka-owned Immaculate Conception International College, Umuchukwu, Orumba South L.G.A, Anambra State as invited guest choirs.
