Catholic Diocese of Awka on Friday, January 5, 2018, increased the number of her dedicated Churches when the Auxiliary Bishop of Awka, His Lordship Most Rev Jonas Benson Okoye in a well attended Ceremony, dedicated St Michael's Catholic Church Uga, Anambra State, in totality a holy place of worship for God and also the first dedicated Church in 2018. The solemn dedication which doubled with the parish pastoral visit featured the blessing of Our Lady of Perpetual help and merit award to individuals who distinguished themselves in the service of God.
Speaking at the Celebration, Bishop Okoye who expressed his joy over the overwhelming growth of the parish and the good work of the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Robinson Agbadugo. He extolled the parish priest who in the space of two years completed the Church building for putting the funds he receives into judicious use in various structures. He also commended the donor of Our Lady of Perpetual help Grotto for using his wealth in the service of God and prayed God to bless his entire family.

In his homily, the bishop appreciated all who were instrumental to the completion of the Church building. He advised the Parish Priest to create a place where all the pious societies would be meeting, and warned the parishioners and all against desecrating the dedicated Church building set aside for God's worship. He charged the faithful to relate as one family and to avoid anything that would bring division among them. He called on Christians who were the temple of the Holy Spirit to be the embodiment of love and harmony that were pleasing to God. This was even as he advised them to join hands together with the Parish Priest to take the parish to a greater height. He also made it known to them that the Blessed Sacrament and the Adoration Chapel was the greatest way to reach out to God for their various needs, assuring them that God who is present in the Blessed Sacrament would not disappoint them.

As part of the dedication, Bishop Okoye had on Thursday January 4, 2018 raised 155 parishioners to soldiers of Christ through the Sacrament of confirmation. He advised the newly confirmed to be of good behavour and to avoid anything that would desecrate them. This was even as he advised them to join any pious society in the Church. He advised them to represent God where ever they would find themselves and also be bold in proclaiming the word of God. In his remarks, the parish priest Rev. Fr. Robinson Agbadugo on behalf of the entire parishioners thanked God for his love in the parish he also commended the pioneer priest Rev. Fr. Valentine Mgbemena who laid the foundation and also the immediate past parish priest, Rev. Fr. Basil Ezekei for his selfless efforts. He commended the major donors of the parish for their goodwill and prayed God to sustain them.
