Fourty -two knights with their ladies and ten widows, who were found worthy for the honour of admission, were on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Investiture of 4th Degree Knights and Ladies of Knights of St Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria, Onitsha Metropolitan Council, admitted into the 4th Degree rank of the honoured Order of the Knights of St Mulumba Nigeria.
The investiture ceremony which was held at St Patrick's Catholic Cathedral, Awka, Anambra State, was well attended by the Supreme Knight, Bro Myke Mary Nwosu; the Noble National President of Ladies of St Mulumba (LSM), Lady Ngo Pat Nwachukwu; the Metro Grand Knight of Onitsha Metro Council, Bro Damian Okolo and the President of LSM Onitsha Metro Council, Lady Dr Stella Epundu. Also were the national officers and the Onitsha Metropolitan Council officers as well as the knights and ladies of St Mulumba Nigeria from the 42 sub-councils that make up the KSM, Onitsha Metropolitan Council.
Admitting the 42 knights with their ladies and the 10 widows, the head of the Supreme Council and the Supreme Knight of KSM Nigeria, Bro. Myke Mary Nwosu, congratulated them for being found worthy of the promotion, admission and investiture to the 4th Degree rank of the honoured Order of the Knights of St Mulumba Nigeria.
Pointing out that they were promoted to the 4th Degree which is the highest rank for their distinguished character and the various roles they played within the order, the supreme knight urged them to live up to the responsibilities of their honour.
Leading in the concelebrated investiture Mass, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Dr Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor in his homily, charged the newly invested knights and ladies to live up to the demands of their elevation and knighthood vocation. He urged the knights and their ladies to as expected of them, be embodiment of virtues that bear true witness to Christ and spend their lives in anticipation of heaven, the target for every Christian.
This was even as the Catholic prelate enjoined the knights and ladies of St Mulumba as well as all to, as Christians and followers of Christ, take up humility as their lifestyle, saying that a proud Christian is a contradiction.
Fides gathered from the chairman of the Local Organising Committee and Grand Knight of Stella Maris Sub-Council, Bro Dan Asiegbu, KSM, that the criteria for the investiture into the 4th Degree Knight included belonging to the order for minimum of 12 years, being of good conduct and excelling in the exams for the promotion.
