The number of Papal Knights in Awka Catholic Diocese has increased by four following the investiture of four Papal awardees, Oct 21, at St Patrick's Cathedral, Awka.
The investiture was sequel to the approval of the individuals' names by the Catholic Supreme Pontiff through the Awka Diocesan bishop, Paulinus Ezeokafor.
The new Papal awardees include, Sir Anthony Enukeme; Sir Dan Okekenta; Sir Fidelis Okafor and Sir Chike Akunyili, who were rewarded for their commitment to the Church.
In his homily, Bishop Ezeokafor, congratulated the Papal Knight awardees, and prayed God to assist them to further help the Church. He described Papal Knights as men of faith and charity and advised them to be helpful to society, while remaining honest and faithful.
In his remarks, Sir Fidelis Okafor, VC of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, speaking on behalf of others, thanked Bishop Ezeokafor for his dedication to the Papal Knights and his love for Awka Diocese.
He equally thanked the auxiliary bishop, Catholic and Anglican priests, Anambra governor, and friends, for their support.
