The Catholic Men Organization (CMO) OF Awka Diocese from 23rd -24th February, 2018 held their annual retreat at CMO, Plaza, St. Patrick's Cathedral Awka, Awka South L.G.A Anambra State. The retreat which took a great shape had its theme as; 'Fathers, Priests and Shepherds of the Family'.
Declaring the retreat open, the president of CMO Awka Diocese, Br.William Akwuba (OOSB.JP), observed that the retreat was to revive the Men, as heads and shepherds of the family into taking up their responsibilities as fathers of the home. He further said that it was a great opportunity,  to remind the fathers of who they are and what they should be as Priests of the family.
In his talk, Rev. Fr. Peter Ibeazor, encouraged the fathers to count themselves lucky as God has made them fathers and priests of their various families. He highlighted that Man is a gift of nature but father is a choice, therefore, they should all embrace it and take up to  their responsibilities as fathers. He also added that Fatherhood is a great gift from God, therefore, they should value it and be at their best.

Fr. Ibeazor who encouraged the fathers to re-establish their covenants with God the Father and rekindle the fire of the Holy Spirit in them, cautioned the fathers against cursing their children. He pinpointed that fathers are the oracles of blessing, therefore they should take to caution, words they breathe out. He encouraged them to love their wives, provide for their families and build great legacies for their families. He charged them to be guards of their various homes and help in setting-up the destinies of the children. He further advised  the fathers to breathe into their children, the word of God, as the principal changer of life and destiny and build in them the spirit of unwavering faith.  He charged them to also build in their off springs discipline.
