Commissioner of police, Anambra, Garba Umar, middle, at a meeting with service chiefs over the Nov 18 Guber poll
As the November 18 gubernatorial election in Anambra State approaches, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, Mr. Garba Baba Umar, has restated the readiness of the security agencies in the state in ensuring a violence free election. Mr. Umar who stated this before a meeting with service chiefs in the state held at Police headquarters, Awka, said the essence of the meeting was for them to brainstorm on how to provide adequate security during and after the election. The Commissioner of Police assured the people of the state of their total commitment to maintaining the existing peace in the state, as well as to fighting crime. Mr. Umar urged Ndi Anambra to always avail them with the necessary information that could lead to the arrest of criminals and their hideouts. According to the CP, the command had set measures in place that would forestall anarchy and breakdown of law and order in the state. This is even he enjoined Ndi Anambra to go about their businesses without fear of molestation or threat.
