Hon Aniunoh handing out a cheque to parent of one of the beneficiaries of his Scholarship Scheme

The member representing Onitsha South One State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Patrick Aniunoh, last Tuesday presented a cheque of five million Naira for the second term school fees and upkeep of over two hundred students under his scholarship scheme. The money will also cover their transportation.
The students, drawn from secondary schools in Onitsha South One Constituency, received the cheques for their second term school fees from the lawmaker at his constituency office in Fegge, Onitsha.
The beneficiaries were students who excelled in the scholarship examinations conducted for secondary school students in the constituency by the Honourable Aniunoh Scholarship Foundation during their holidays last year.
Addressing the beneficiaries and their parents, Honourable Aniunoh explained that the scholarship programme which, he said, started three and half years ago, was designed to assist brilliant students to acquire sound education since their parents found it difficult to pay their school fees.
In his remarks, the chairman, All Progressives Grand Alliance, Onitsha South Local Government Area, Mr Ikechukwu Ezeoba, noted that the move was the first of its kind as none of their past representatives embarked on such a project.
A member of Mr. Aniuno Scholarship Foundation, Mrs Sony Obiegwu, said the scholarship scheme was something the beneficiaries looked up to as the benefactor had always been consistent with the philanthropic gesture and advised the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously.
In an interview, some parents of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Anastasia Obianyo, Mr. Chidiebere Ezennaya and Mrs. Mary-Ann Ibekwe, assured Mr. Aniuno that they would use the fund for the purpose it was meant.
The presentation which took place at Hon. Patrick Paddy Aniunoh Campaign Organization, along Zik’s  Avenue, Fegge, Onitsha, had over three thousand APGA faithful in attendance.
