Mr Oseloka Obaze, PDP guber candidate, addressing members of MOFGAS after they declared support for him in Awka, Sept 12, 2017.

The governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, for the November 18 election in Anambra State, Mr Oseloka Obaze, has restated his resolve to serve only one term in office, and as such, will not waste the state's resources saving money for second term.
Obaze who was addressing members of Movement for Greater Anambra State, MOFGAS, a grassroots body led by Shedrach Anakwue, after they collapsed their structure into his, said his (Obaze's) resolve to serve for only one term was to finish the eight years that would have gone to Anambra North if the incumbent governor had completed his full tenure.
According to Obaze, his coming into the race was borne out of the incumbent governor's failure to do well. Said he, 'If the present governor had done well, I would not be contesting because we put him.'
He said however, that because Obiano did not do well, those who put him there now wanted him out in order to arrest the slide the state was experiencing, even as he described his aspiration as divine.
Obaze, the immediate past secretary to the state government, SSG, condemned campaign of calumny, disclosing that he and his campaign team would never abuse anyone but would concentrate on addressing salient issues. He said anyone of his team found castigating others would be fired.
Earlier the leader of MOFGAS, Anakwue, said their decision to pitch tents with Obaze was because of his qualities, which, he noted, were what the state needed at the moment.
He said the event was the beginning of the group's journey to government house.
Anakwue who said that his 20,000 strong group were formerly members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance loyal to Maxi Okwu, said he was personally joining the Obaze team because they saw him as the one that would solve the problems of his people of Amanuke, and described Obaze as the best of the lot currently gunning for the seat of power in Awka.
