The antecedents of Rev. Fr. Colman Onuebgu during his three years stay at Msgr. Maduka Memorial Secondary School, Ekwulobia in Aguata LGA of Anambra State as the manager have been celebrated and described as exceptional.
The celebration of the former manager's antecedents took place at the school compound on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 during a resounding send -off party organized by the school management lead by the present manager Rev. Fr. Maximus Okonkwo. The send-off party availed opportunity for students and management staff to recount the exceptional touch and affect which Fr. Onuegbu's stay had on them.
Fides gathered from various students and teachers in the school that Fr. Colman Onuebgu's administration brought a lot of positive transformation and repositioning of the school as one of the best within Aguata environs through his strict manner of instilling discipline.
Speaking at the occasion, Fr. Onuegbu thanked God for his grace and direction which enabled him to identify important needs of the school saying that God used him as an instruction to reposition the school.
He appreciated the present manager, Fr. Okonkwo for his organizational skills and the new touch that had been added to the school making it better. He urged him to keep the tempo and never to be tired in his new place of work that attracts no financial benefit but has heavenly blessings imbibed in it.
He hailed the teachers for their contributions and efforts which help him to achieve the success recorded in his three year stay and tasked them to be more committed, dedicated and diligent in their assigned duties and responsibilities in a bid to produce students whose contribution would propel positive change in the community.
He emphasized the need for the school manager to start living in the school saying it would help curtailed students activities especially during night studies and urged parents and school benefactors to assist the school to achieve its aims and objectives.

Earlier in his homily, Fr. Onuegbu who used the illustration of a tripod explained the various complementary roles which staff, parents and students play in the achievement of academic excellence within a school. He noted that it was the responsibility of the school manager to teach the students how to live a good and holy life through his own explemary life style. He advised parents never to be discouraged in the training of their children especially in the face of economic hardship saying that child's training was like a life investment that would be reaped later in life.
He beckoned on the students to be open to formation and complement their parents suffering with their academic excellence.
In his remark, the school manager, Fr. Maximums Okonkwo appreciated Fr. Onuegbu for his selfless service to the school which brought about the transformation which the school can boost of. He promised to keep building on what had already been established.
The school Principal, Mr. Innocent Azike in his send-off address enumerated the achievements of Fr. Onuegbu saying that the send-off party was to commemorate the nostalgic short stay of the former manager in the school.
Highlights of the event were dance performances, gifts presentation and welcome song.
